The story of Designed by Man

Designed by man was created in 2016. Two enterprising young people (Jacquin and Dean) made a jerry can bar for fun, they posted it on Facebook. The post on Facebook went viral and everyone was excited about the jerry can bar. From that moment on, Jacquin and Dean decided to do this professionally. Besides that, they thought it would be super cool to make men's gifts.

The breakthrough

The two boys met at the Wood and Furnishings College. After this course they parted ways, but they kept in touch. Jacquin became a team leader at a supermarket and Dean went to study at higher vocational education level. He did the course industrial product designer. In 2016, they came up with the idea of turning a jerry can into a kind of drink bar together. They turned a steel jerry can into a kind of cabinet by grinding it open and making a door in it. A wooden interior was placed inside the jerry can. Jacquin and Dean decided to put it on facebook. From that moment on it has not been quiet at Designed by Man. Many people thought it was a very cool and cool concept. More and more requests came for the jerry can bars. Reason enough to continue with these jerry cans. The real breakthrough for Designed by Man came after Jacquin and Dean attended the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt.

The goal

Coming up with a gift for men is very difficult. That's why we designed the ideal men's gift. With the jerry can bar you have a unique, cool gift for any man or tough woman. We are also thinking of a tough adult man with tattoos for example.

The mission of Designed by Man is to sell its jerry cans all over the world. The ultimate goal is to have a distributor of the jerrycans in every country.

Our expectation
